#2.) Lack of Exercise: In a population based sample of 5 to 17 year olds, 70% of obese youth had at least one risk factor for cardiovascular disease.

#3.) Peer Pressure: Negative peer pressure can lead to experimentation with drugs and alcohol and other high-risk behaviors.

#4.) Bullying: Every 7 minutes a child is bullied.

#5.) Lack of Motivation: Many of today’s youngsters have the ability and the aptitude to succeed, but lack the motivation to do so.

When putting together our children’s programs we wanted to address these issues so we could truly help our young students.
This is how we address…

#3.) Negative Peer Pressure: We build confidence in our students so they can stand up and say no to negative peer pressure.

#4.) Bullying: We teach self defense so our students don’t have to be afraid of bullies.

#5.) Lack of Motivation: We inspire out students to become enthusiastic and motivated in school. We give good grade incentives to our students to encourage them to perform better academically.

Hands of Life Martial Arts is a high quality family martial arts center. We offer a state of the art environment and provide a unique and high quality character building and martial arts curriculum. In our program the students will learn the fundamentals principles of Okinawan Karate and Chinese Kung Fu. The character building and life skills program that we use, was designed by Dr. Robyn Silverman, a professional child psychologist and accomplished author. This program focuses on life skills such as confidence, focus, discipline, respect and self-control in a fun filled environment. Basic self-defense and life protection techniques are also part of the curriculum. The students will experience dynamic activities such as breaking boards, movie nights and dynamic weapons seminars. We also encourage students to improve their schoolwork by giving them “good grade” rewards and incentives. Our goal is to make any student who comes to our academy better in school, better at home, better at work and better at life!”
